Bhutan – Doklam Plateau, Doka La Dispute with China

Bhutan – Doklam Plateau, Doka La Dispute with China

By Padmini Arhant

The Himalayan Kingdom Bhutan confronted with China, the neighbor up north on boundary demarcation drawing another neighbor India on the East due to trijunction – the meeting of three countries – Bhutan, India and China border near Bhutan’s Doklam plateau that is claimed as Donglang by China.

Bhutan, a small nation having no diplomatic or military ties with China while maintaining strategic, military, consular and cultural exchange with India forced into the triangular situation.

China’s decision to deepen border down South into Bhutan in Doklam, authorizing road construction and mobilizing building equipment and materials stretching into Bhutan’s geographical territory raised alarm for Bhutan prompting the Buddhist nation to seek assistance from India.

India already faced with China’s incursion in Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh now required to intervene at Bhutan’s behest on defense obligation towards Bhutan. Furthermore, from India’s security standpoint China’s road project could potentially isolate Indian Northeastern states from New Delhi, a possibility not affordable at any cost.

As a result, Indian troops are stationed at the trijunction with a standoff against China’s troops amid media rhetoric on both sides weighing in more than serious talks at ministerial level.

India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval’s visit to Beijing to attend BRICS NSA meeting over the weekend and direct talks with counterpart on this sensitive matter apparently was unsuccessful.

China’s officials in the political bureau and military stance insisting on Doklam as Chinese soil is reminiscent to occupation in neighboring Buddhist nation Tibet.

As cited in China’s military and civilian statements, the rise in economic power stimulates quest for expansion aptly applicable to China’s contemporary status with neighbors sharing borders with China. Though China’s territorial extension goes prior to economic growth invading Tibet and denying Taiwan sovereign identity that remains unsettled until today.

Subsequently, clamp down on Hong Kong’s democratic protest, the rise of Maoist groups in Nepal in the Himalayan foothills and similar activities in India’s Eastern states are visibly noted as China’s influence.

China’s ongoing problems with landlocked Bhutan and maritime skirmishes on islets against Japan, Vietnam and Philippines in South and East China Sea, Sri Lanka defining non-military engagement on recently acquired Hambantota deep seaport by China alongside border tensions in Central Asia are enormous in the multifaceted dispute.

Above all, the biggest and significant issue for China is United States successful testing of THAAD MISSILE in the latest response to North Korean IRBM launch in the Korean Peninsula. United States frustration over China’s passivity in simmering friction is no secret with the message from President Donald Trump on twitter expressing disappointment.

Obviously, there are substantial challenges surrounding China more than India given China’s sprawling territorial discord with far too many in Asia not to mention investments in economies demanding attention over unnecessary undertaking in Doklam straining relations among neighbors.

Accordingly, the priority on Doklam impasse is for withdrawal of troops from both China and India in conjunction with China terminating road construction encroaching Doklam to defuse crisis.

As for Doklam territory, the proximity and geographical landscape indicative of the disputed area clearly located in Bhutan legitimizing Bhutan’s claim on the plateau.

China’s economic power expended in building prosperity with all nations within and outside the region would be unique role setting precedence in the modern era rather than territorial annexations that are no longer viable in the nuclear age.

Both China and India together with Bhutan resolving the matter in absolute respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all concerned would demonstrate maturity and political will for peaceful resolutions. The commitment would avert acceleration to the point of no return.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

Global Security

By Padmini Arhant

Any threat to humanity is from the forces and nations diligently engaged in anti-humanity and anti-environment causes like sponsoring terrorism creating al Qaeda, ISIL  evolved into ISIS besides illegal invasion, occupation, territorial annexation, imposing unlawful and unreasonable sanctions against anyone not towing the line along suicidal missions and kamikaze operations proved self-destructive thus far.

The bellicose rhetoric and belligerence are best abandoned to exercise reasoning faculty that could enable sensible solutions to unnecessary problems manufactured to benefit the few at the rest of the world expense.

The reasonable minds capable of comprehending issues despite false propaganda and massive subversion realize and recognize the real enemies to peace and unity in the world.

The world could no longer remain beleaguered under Secret Society and UNSC unipolar decisions to isolate and target nations or citizens regarded adversaries to enemies of humanity.

It is time now to relinquish aggression, military might and Superpower or economic power syndrome as none of these would guarantee accomplishment of devious goals denying others their legitimacy, sovereignty and inalienable rights in the ever changing geopolitical and economic dynamics.

On the contrary there is a great opportunity in extending cooperation on unconditional bilateral talks aimed at reaching consensus on matter and actions responsible for any dispute.

Sowing the seeds of peace, dialogue and diplomacy bears fruits beneficial to all rather than confrontational disposition resulting in eye for an eye blinding the entire world.

Thank you.

The Affordable Care Act Reality

July 30, 2017

The Affordable Care Act Reality

By Padmini Arhant

The Affordable Care Act became comprehensively effective in 2014 and not 2010.

The subsidies to Insurance companies are not passed over to end consumer as co-payments and deductibles have been higher despite the law.

The premiums have not been cheaper while the insurance industry has been rewarded with 35 million subscribers through mandatory subscription.

There is no penalty on Insurers unlike on subscribers and employers on non-compliance.

The constant slogan on 20 million losing insurance would happen under the current law. The reason is the funding enabled largely on higher payroll taxes and individual mandates burdening small business, the middle income groups, the youth and healthy population.

The fiscal budget for 2018 on mandatory spending covering Medicare and Medicaid costs at $582 billion and $404 billion respectively are expected to rise further with bulk of the payments derived from general tax revenues becoming the primary source. The current 43% would soon increase to 62% affecting the younger groups, the middle class and baby boomers in work force.

There are already proposals to hike taxes for the income bracket between $150,000 – $300,000 in the tax reform bill sparing those earning above the target income to accommodate anamolies in the present health care bill that would exacerbate consumer spending with ripple effects on retail business and the economy.

Politics punishing the middle class and lower income neither qualifying for Medicaid nor benefiting from tax credits with health insurance premiums exceeding qualifying deductions is economically unsustainable with inevitable backlash from the electorate.

The ACA needs amendments in these areas with facts and figures reconciling reality.

Thank you.

Pakistan – Supreme Court Verdict on Panamagate

July 28, 2017

Pakistan – Supreme Court Verdict on Panamagate

By Padmini Arhant

The Supreme Court in Pakistan delivered decision on long awaited Panamagate involving ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and family.

The case related to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and family inheritance has drawn lot of attention. The political family’s disproportionate assets held offshore via foreign companies brought to light in the International Investigative Journalism report on elites’ holdings worldwide.

The nationwide speculations and convictions on this matter finally brought to end by Pakistan’s Supreme Court with the expected outcome. The Panamagate overshadowing spate of terror attacks within and outside Pakistan verifiable in national media attention divested not only in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s fate but also the fragile democracy in Pakistan.

The removal of the head of State during term in office is not new in Pakistan politics as similar event happened with predecessor ex-Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani. Pakistan’s Supreme Court disqualified then leadership on corruption scandal reminiscent to latest decision against outgoing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Pakistan politics traditionally governed by military has been through government successions following assassinations under army’s top brass command seizing power that continued until the Presidency of General Pervez Musharraf, a close western ally self-exiled in London in the wake of political storm from abuse of power returning home not long ago.

General Musharraf’s series of actions beginning with declaring emergency, imprisonment of political opposition, barring press and media factual reporting, clamp down on Supreme Court justices leading to closure of the highest court to cite a few violations are regarded a past relic understandably due to support from army and western foreign powers and allies in the Islamic coalition.

The rivalry between Pakistan and India reached the ultimate during General Pervez Musharaff rule bringing the two nuclear nations in the Kargil conflict in 1999 on the brink of nuclear confrontation.

General Pervez Musharraf was implicated in corruption and implicit connection for ignoring requests to security threats leading to assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto also a western backed choice in Pakistan politics as member of political dynasty sharing spotlight on corruption legacy until the slain Prime Minister belated quest for democratic Pakistan perceived by the internal and external forces to upset the applecart.

Subsequently, Bhutto family Pakistan People’s Party induction to power on sympathy vote is conventional practice in South Asian politics witnessed in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh to name a few in the region.

The other political party emergence poised as opposition is Tehreek e Insaf of Pakistan (PTI) headed by former cricket captain Imran Khan not without western shadow in the changing political dynamics and lingering imperial influence.

Pakistan’s desire for political stability amid terrorism rocking the state from within and periphery hurting potential meaningful bilateral relations with neighbors all around is a major challenge for the young nation represented by youthful euphemism on functioning democracy.

Furthermore, Pakistan’s internal troubles in Baluchistan and Sindh provinces seeking secession from the union exacerbates normal conditions hindering progress in the consistently challenged political environment.

Yet Pakistan’s political factions and other elements interest remains contentious on Kashmir at foreign behest rather than addressing issues in the domestic front.

The intriguing situation in Pakistan emulating political culture in the region and worldwide is electing candidates and political parties with established record on corruption, criminal dealings and activities marring credibility besides affiliations to international powers vested interests.

In this instance, the corruption exposure against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not a revelation given the political trajectory.

Pakistan’s close alliance with Saudi Kingdom though diminishing in the recent years and ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s special ties with Saudi Arabia throughout political career is an acknowledged fact. Then the contemporary link to other Gulf state, Qatar apparently useful on financial rather than political gains in the turbulent atmosphere.

Nonetheless, the precedence on zero tolerance to corruption resulting in the removal of governments in Pakistan applied across the spectrum would demonstrate commitment to purge the nation from graft and importantly terrorism.

Pakistan is still a safe haven for terror networks and underworld crime syndicates that deserves intervention and expulsions from the domain freeing the beleaguered population in the country and Indian sub-continent from the menace of violence and persistent terror.

Corruption is global epidemic stifling growth and opportunity for citizens world over. The political body anywhere entrenched in corruption is the flagship imposing generational poverty and income inequality in society.

As such politics is a gold mine for many to make fortune and attain celebrity status in short period of time and upon term in office at the expense of those electing them to power leaving the electorate at the authorities’ mercy.

Politics is no longer the public service in the competitive power contest. The motto shifted from resolving nation and citizen’s problems to acquiring personal benefits and prominence worsened with international clique dominance undermining sovereignty and republic rights.

Pakistan’s course to root corruption extended on terrorism binding on all would guarantee a new beginning for the people paying price with life, livelihoods and future denied in the bargain for self-promotion and extraordinary prosperity.

The citizens of Pakistan hope for stable democracy devoid of failures in smooth governance maintaining transparency and accountability exempting none regardless of stature and influential profile would reset the nation towards optimism and success.

Wishing the citizens of Pakistan peaceful transition and co-existence forging security and economic development with all within and outside the country.

Peace to all!

Thank you.

United States – Health Care Bill

July 26, 2017

United States – Health Care Bill

By Padmini Arhant

The latest unsuccessful attempt to pass health care bill is perhaps due to lack of coordination and substance not in adherence with requirements.

The main aspects of the bill for robust health care law starting from eliminating mandates with penalty, Medicaid expansions not contractions, reviewing tax features for balanced appropriations, addressing opioid funding and state autonomy for health care benefits to suit respective needs with or without federal assistance.

The existing law enforcing penalty for failure to subscribe insurance and coverage lapse is pro-industry and neglect reality related to unfortunate and unpredictable circumstances that happens in life forcing people into unaffordability. There is a need for law to be flexible and democratic rather than the present conditions binding on the middle and lower income group who do not qualify for Medicaid.

With the current partisanship on this crucial bill, the focus is shifted from strengthening health care benefits to preserving  industry profitability against affordability burdening healthy citizens and segments unable to meet legislative and industry criteria.  Any reservations are seemingly political than practical.

United States fiscal budget FY 2018 –  Medicare and Medicaid costs under Mandatory spending are $582 billion and $404 billion respectively per The Office of Management and Budget. Mandatory Spending Control Mechanisms, Congressional Budget Office.

Medicare Hospital Insurance program entirely funded by payroll taxes right now alongside Supplementary Medical Insurance program and drug benefit provided by combination of payroll taxes and premiums making up 57 percent and the balance 43 percent from general tax revenues contributing to budget deficit. The long term appears costlier with escalating healthcare costs demanding 62 percent from general tax revenues to fund Medicare. The irony is the Affordable Care Act largely dependent on higher payroll taxes shifting the burden from the wealthy to younger population in the work force and small businesses – usually in the front line dealing with challenges during economic downturn.

Neither the present law nor the proposed health care bill demonstrate courage to rein in on ever rising health care costs with monopoly in health care, insurance and pharmaceutical industry confirming the political status on legislations passed to favor oligarchy over ordinary citizens.

No matter how the existing health care law and embattled legislation are viewed and interpreted, the average and healthy citizens are penalized for political reasons with little or no concern on the economic impact and real experience not propagated information with serious ramifications to follow.

Health Care – Prevention is better than Cure. This article is dedicated to all Americans regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic background and importantly health status. The podcast on this article will be available shortly. The topic will continue further on funding medicaid expansion, opioids epidemic and health industry regulation.

By Padmini Arhant

All citizens need health care access without having to differ medical consultation and treatment programs or going overseas witnessed in the trend created by unaffordable hospitalization and medical care costs in the United States.

United States with GDP per capita approximately $51,000 for 2016 and California @ $59,000 remaining the largest economy in the nation with $2.3trillion GDP – 12.43% of National GDP $18.5 trillion struggling to afford health care for all understandably frustrates citizens in the state that also clarifies escalating health care costs and insurance premiums in parallel with no point of intersection.

Taxpayers having the option to allocate pretax earnings towards health savings account is critical for health maintenance choosing the best suitable plan that fits their budget and health needs.

Medicaid Expansions for the poor, lower and middle income groups eliminating current caps to permit significant percentage of population not meeting present criteria would produce healthy results in cutting expenditure that is otherwise keeping them from dependable health plan.

Medicaid for basic to complete recovery based on individual medical conditions would save healthcare spending arising from neglected and preventable health issues costing patients, insurance and the states alike.

The topic will resume on Medicaid funding with dissection of federal and state disposable income, wasteful spending that could be divested in citizens health care and more.

———————————————————————————————————————————————–

Health care law – The Affordable Care Act in the United States is not quite affordable for many due to health care costs constantly on the rise along with insurance premium. With health insurance covering only certain percentage on health bill the remaining is expected to be paid by patient. This is apart from copayment and deductibles on the related item.

The law is claimed to protect 20 million people who are brought under the ambit via mandatory subscription tied with penalty on failure to do so. This enactment proved a bonanza to health insurance companies in their deal to offer coverage for a price not nearly meeting average consumer purchase power.

Then there are issues with insurance companies declining coverage on some ailments not necessarily pre-existing and when they do cover, they are not without terms and conditions to an extent of transferring the burden on to consumer.

Under the existing health care law, the provisions to allow subscriptions for patients with pre-existing illness and extension on dependent children until 25 years of age pegged to parents or primary subscribers is a partial relief and again the price is not any cheaper as insurance premium is twice or more than regular cost for subscribers with any pre-existing symptoms or treatment.

The insurance companies with different tier plans covering 60% – 80% maximum and the rest left for consumer to contend with, the bottom line is health care and insurance industry exorbitant price makes it difficult for modest income consumers to absorb significant portion of the bill.

The Affordable Care Act focus limited to health insurance subscription while allowing health care and insurance industry to maintain extraordinary gains with soaring costs beyond consumer affordability reflects monopoly in a market economy.

Ordinarily the price determined in a market economy based on demand and supply together with competitiveness from multiple providers contributes to price adjustment and consumer price index.

Health care being vital for survival and wellbeing, the rapid escalation in costs against controlled inflation deprives citizens with basic and contingency subscriptions from affordable care.

Again, any subsidy and discounts are usually offset with treatment vs. drug costs rather than comprehensive package covering entire medical expense inclusive of medicines and any other requirements enabling full recovery.

The argument that tax credits for out of pocket medical expenditure paying towards any surplus typically works in favor of higher income bracket while middle and lower income group with relatively less taxable income falling short to take advantage of deductions in annual return.

Another development in health care practice now is the insurance industry run health care centers and medical foundations hiring medical professionals and practitioners safeguarding insurance company policy on quantity over quality in patient consultation keeping accessibility to necessary medical exam and procedure to bare minimum or unavailable.

Similarly, the tradition on insurance company approval every step of the way is continued with any refills on prescription drugs not linked to opioids also left at the insurance company discretion overriding medical advice and illness status.

Unfortunately, the Affordable Care Act inability to address these persisting problems pose a greater challenge for average consumers forced into compulsory insurance subscription benefitting the insurance industry more than the subscriber.

Furthermore, the enrolment of consumers with pre-existing situation is hardly a loss for health insurance company since payments towards ongoing treatment to patients in this category are compensated by young and healthy individuals’ subscription under current law.

On health management, the middle aged healthy subscribers routine physical exam every two years also restricted with insurance company protocol requiring payment for lipid profile viz. cholesterol and other critical blood tests to rule out any potential disease. These rules are enforced on insurance plan across the board and not confined to lower or higher payment plan.

The prevalent health care woes outlined above are factual leading to worse scenarios for many struggling to stay alive in the heavily profit oriented environment.

The debate on nothing wrong with aiming for jumbo profits is possible in full employment and fair income distribution economy in contradiction to reality.

The argument has no meaning in economic situation where profitability exceeds affordability widening the gap between haves and have nots especially in economically disadvantaged segments and amongst income group both young and old with the former starting life and latter nearing retirement on meager savings or none at all.

———————————————————————————————————————————————

What needs to be done?

SOLUTION

Any legislation – present or future only concerned about health insurance, health care and pharmaceutical industry profits unaffected rain or shine need to pay attention to the system being not quite effective in delivering service to the most vulnerable as well as others not receiving the value for money in protecting health and life.

The antitrust law compliance facilitating more competition is the fundamental course to curb ever increasing costs on minimal to prolonged medical care including prescription drugs and any medical device.

Tax breaks matching employer contribution to employee and those with dependents would create a flexible plan.

Tax credits with full deductions for self-employed and small business owners enable more choices for consumers in the market place.

Medical Savings Account (Medi-Fund) – Financial institutions like banks, credit unions and cooperatives set up accounts exclusively for medical expense with better interests on deposits and lower borrowing rate would ease expense for families having members suffering from minor to major illness. The funds are to be FDIC insured to prevent risks and guarantee anytime withdrawal for medical purpose. The ATM debit card for medical use would serve well during emergency.

Students unable to stay on parents or guardians’ insurance plan should be eligible for federal and state medical grants together with college or educational institution initiated private endowments for student medical aid.

Senior Citizens – Expanding Medicare as well as covering drug costs with choices to buy through government agency sponsored pharmacy. Additionally, any retailers discount on prescription drugs qualifying for tax rebate would also be helpful.

Medicaid Expansion under Obamacare – Supreme Court decision allowing States to exercise discretion based on voluntary Medicaid expansion emphasized status quo. As such Medicaid expansions are made possible by lower and middle-income tax payers and not the wealthiest of the wealthy in the economy.

As explained in the article below  – any subsidies and premium tax credits capped at 138% and 400% of federal poverty level (FPL) to qualify for Medicaid and tax deductions under Obamacare enables marginal members provided their taxable income is sufficient to offset credits again excluding higher medical expenses for patients with pre-existing conditions and those pre-disposed to any genetic disorders.

Health Care Bill – Myths and Facts

By Padmini Arhant

The heated debate on Health Care Bill pending votes in the United States Senate arguably attracts attention and tension.

Health Care Bill – Understanding the details would perhaps ease friction allowing focus on appropriate action.

OBAMA CARE:  Taxes, subsidies to insurance customers, Medicaid expansion program.

Obamacare requiring all Americans to subscribe to health insurance or pay tax penalty – A bonanza for health insurance industry bringing 35 million subscribers with mandatory insurance law tied to penalty.

The media reporting that repeal is expected to sharply increase the number of people who don’t have insurance which could in turn lead insurers to raise premiums.

This means the insurance for those unable to subscribe Obamacare compulsory insurance is essentially paid by healthy insured customers enabling health care industry mega profitability.

Obamacare mandate on large employers to offer health insurance or be fined.  Most corporations were offering some form of health insurance to employees negotiated in salary benefits prior to Obamacare rule. The penalty factor guarantees health insurance industry revenue.

In a real democracy and market economy choices combined with competition would facilitate affordability rather than mandatory law favoring monopoly in health care and health insurance industry.

Health coverage to the poor – Medicaid criteria.

Prior to Affordable Care Act – In all states, Medicaid provides health coverage for some low-income people, families and children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. In some states the program covers all low-income adults below a certain income level.

Obamacare Medicaid eligibility is based on income at or below 138% of federal poverty level (FPL).

Department of Health and Human Services determined FPL is used to evaluate Medicaid eligibility. The FPL is defined as set minimum gross income a family needs for survival that includes food, clothing, transportation, shelter and other essentials…allowing for inflation every year. The poverty level data is presented according to family size beginning with single person in a household upto family of 10 i.e. a couple with eight children. Then onwards the amount is incremental for additional person in a family.

FPL figures are released in January of the year.  FPL for 2017 for single person household is reported as $13,860. The single person would qualify for Medicaid under Obamacare with income level at $19,127 (i.e. 138% of FPL $13,860 for 2017).

Obamacare premium tax credit and cost sharing reductions supposedly leads to Medicaid eligibility.

Premium tax credits are generally available to people with household incomes between 100 and 400 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) and are based on factors such as plan rates where you live.

In this instance, the single person household seeking premium tax credit would qualify upon annual income anywhere between $13,860 to $55,440 – this would be affordable when tax payable is more than insurance costs including deductibles and out of pocket payments.

Where does that leave others who neither belong in 138% FPL nor 400% FPL for premium tax credit and instead reminded of heavy penalty for not subscribing to health insurance?

The cost sharing reductions usually shifted on to subscriber by insurance industry given the insurance costs and health industry extraordinary profit margins not addressed in Obamacare or GOP health care bill.

GOP bill offering reimbursements for at least two years  to health insurance companies on the assumption of major loss to insurance providers for subsidies that reduce out-of-pocket costs for low income customers of Obamacare plans proves industry winning favor from both left and right of the political aisle.

Subsidies to reduce out-of-pocket costs for low income customers. The subsidies never affect insurance industry as no reduction in health insurance costs experienced with distribution across consumer base that penalize the healthy to bear expense. Even otherwise the subsidies are eventually paid for by middle income tax payers in the state and national economy.

Thank you.

Political Reality

Political Reality

By Padmini Arhant

Politics is never known to be civil, engaging, honest and trustworthy. More so the politics in disguise, propaganda based, devious and plain wicked with personal and vested interests infiltrating and imposing at every opportunity wherever and whenever possible creating political stalemate.

The Secret society members and foreign sources as the closest allies represented in politics, media and other domains pledging allegiance to anti-humanity and anti-progress objectives are on self-defeating course having exhausted time and resources in deflecting public attention from issues concerning them, the nation and the world at large.

As for the rest of political class, those lacking courage and will to stand up to forces against efficient governance benefitting electorate are wasting taxpayers money in the absence of  positive and productive representation.  The voters grant legitimacy to the mantle of power despite flurry of campaign donations from near and far in the bid to any posts in public service.

The collusion to disrupt functionality and distort information with certain prominent press and media playing major role is a clear sign of democracy under siege. Not to mention travesty of sovereignty undermined in the overwhelming threat to citizens seeking a better and secure future without continuous interventions from entities committed to conflate and extrapolate decisions.

Not surprisingly, the secrecy and aversion to reality disposed to ambush mentality exacerbating absolute control and authority.

Nothing is meant forever with expiry on all things both tangible and otherwise.

What is elitism?

Status specializing in hubris, ignorance, xenophobia, megalomania, sneering, jeering, condescendence, contemptuousness, envy, prejudice, polarization, deception, subversion, treason, deceit, duplicity, demagoguery, debauchery, perversion, promiscuity, plagiarism, grand larceny, misogyny, gluttonous, cronyism, servility and last but not the least parasitic existence conveniently asserted as elitism amongst contemporary feudalists and fiduciaries frozen in the medieval era.

United States – Congress Deal on Sanctions Against Russia, Iran and North Korea

July 22, 2017

United States – Congress Deal on Sanctions Against Russia, Iran and North Korea

By Padmini Arhant

The bipartisan agreement on sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea at United States allies’ behest is politically motivated ignoring serious repercussions of such action.

When will there be acknowledgment of destabilizing legacy from U.S. foreign policy architects and game players who continue to inflict immeasurable misery, unrest and political chaos world over?

United States constant meddling and illegal interventions in the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Asia including the creation of al-Qaeda and the latest ISIS has obstructed global peace and progress with turmoil and tumultuous events having become the norm.

The legislation following cues from forces embarked on vested interests convey message to the world that United States governance is directed by foreign diktat that cares less about negative impact of such initiatives given the unnecessary adversarial environment in the nuclear age.

The current deal is a bad move for reasons cited below.

RUSSIA – Regardless of the endless saga over alleged Russian interference in 2016 U.S. Presidential race causing propaganda fatigue that has run its course and lost novelty, the reruns are nothing more than deflecting public attention from issues concerning the nation and the rest of the world.

The economic, financial and travel sanctions against non-western nations eventually hurt United States and allies position on the economy with domestic businesses having any representation in the nations that are sanctioned unable to carry on operations due to embargo on that country.

In the global economy with interdependency, widespread supply chain, technological connectivity and importantly fuel imports viz. natural gas from Russia to Europe and oil from Iran to other parts of the world could generate fuel crisis. The trade restrictions would ultimately cost the average consumer and businesses in the United States and elsewhere as experienced in the past slowing economic activities all around.  Not to mention the inflation counteracting any positive growth and development.

Besides, the antagonistic approach towards these nations via sanctions proved counterproductive until now. The path of diplomacy and dialogue has long been abandoned replaced with cavalier decisions and aggression exacerbating global relations in the twenty first century.

The impatience and irresponsible reactions are not the solutions to global problems. The initial step in addressing issue is to review and recognize one’s own flaws and deficiencies prior to fault finding and consider pragmatic measures to ease tensions than enforce inappropriate recommendations.

United States pursuing constructive choices and maintaining stable partnership with Russia is paramount. The resolution on several international issues beginning with Ukraine, ending war in Syria, nuclear non-proliferation leading towards disarmament that is critical for life and planet survival are all dependent on peaceful overture.

Again, Paris climate treaty is ineffective in the absence of eliminating nuclear threat and terror sponsorship arming terror networks with chemical and biological weapons alongside conventional weapons cache.

IRAN  – The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between P5+1, EU and Iran in Geneva in 2015 was premised on lifting sanctions against Iran in exchange for Iran’s non-nuclear program.

The accord categorically called for adherence on both sides with default from either prompting pre-JCPOA status.

United States Congress heading towards sanctions against Iran at closest ally will would not only jeopardize JCPOA but also compel Iran to the original option on nuclear defense that could no longer be challenged with U.S. reversal on Geneva pact.

NORTH KOREASanctions proved counterproductive as they are with any nation. The notion that depriving North Korean citizens from normal existence would deliver revolt against North Korean government is a gross miscalculation. The starvation imposed via sanctions punish the population producing resentment against those behind the failed strategy adding to nationalism amongst the victims of economic warfare. Furthermore, the prohibition of exports and imports is also barring trade prospects for United States business with the isolated country.

United States presence in the Korean peninsula with provocative military drills on Yellow Sea has promoted North Korea nuclear ambitions in recent memory. The demilitarization and commencement of communication involving fair expectations would be the initial requirement to deescalate conflict.

United States foreign policy moving away from saber rattling and unsuccessful sanctions substituted with amicable and rational proposals would be a paradigm shift in the changing geopolitical dynamics.

All the more reason for nuclear free zone to be global priority in the otherwise nuclear frenzy climate.

Thank you.

Political Class and Media Hypocrisy

Political Class and Media Hypocrisy

By Padmini Arhant

It’s time for political class and media to quit scapegoat politics and justify their position enjoyed by them with public funded salary, extraordinary privileges and kickbacks on government contracts and legislations favoring corporations and special interests. Globalists owned media subverting facts and reality to maintain status quo is desperate strategy proved counterproductive thus far.

The political class and media or anyone accusing me of not delivering and claiming celebrity status when my identity and real name is suppressed with proxies and phonies misrepresenting me and my contributions nearing a decade without being paid a dime or any benefits whether health care, retirement or basic existence compensation is browbeating much to self-detriment.

I invite the critics – the ones who are questioned for their corruption, criminal and megalomaniacal activities to step into my shoes and demonstrate what they expect of me instead of being engaged in constant vilification presumed as their prerogative.

In return, I pose the question to the powerful and influential entities –

What have you done besides amassing wealth lasting several generations and still considered never enough alongside basking in undeserving glory and pageantry?

Anything claimed as input and delivery is the job expected to be performed given the status and career chosen by one with more to reap than offer from their end.

The current trend to snipe me at every opportunity is an utter waste of taxpayer funds and media role would be appropriate in presenting news events without contriving matter for commercial gains and political advantage.

Perhaps expressing gratitude towards any devoting their time and efforts in serving the world for free without any financial costs to anybody rather than disparaging them bearing in mind that one has to afford ones’ survival as well in addition to meeting extreme demands from those who barely recognize their responsibility in the respective posts and expend life in cynicism and discord.

United States – Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security

Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security

By Padmini Arhant

GOP House plan to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security benefits as unsustainable Social Welfare programs is gross misconception. The tax dollars from ordinary citizens being actual taxpayers in the economy divested in foreign interests and promoting their aspirations for regional dominance is unreasonable and unacceptable.

It’s time for American tax funds invested in American lives such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security that are critical for survival and American economic growth and development.

The position otherwise is indicative of misplaced loyalty and misrepresentation in Congress with members elected to protect citizens rights on all matter beginning with their tax dollars for  quality health care and retirement benefits made available as priority.

More on this topic in due course.

Bilderberg Secret Society

By Padmini Arhant

Synopsis on Bilderberg Group – It is a Secret Society comprising members from powerful and influential positions in the world. The Bilderbergers consider themselves elites and extraordinary individuals exerting authority. The group holds annual meeting barring public and non-elite media with disclosure on meeting discussion prohibited along with attendees names withheld from public knowledge.

Presidential candidates in the United States and similarly Britain’s Prime Minister prospects and others from elsewhere are summoned at the Bilderberg group for pre-approval. The haphazard arrangement in the attendance by Presidential candidates from both political parties in 2008 and earlier participants corroborate the protocol.

Since the secret gathering engage in planning and policy making that has direct impact on global inhabitants, the nature and manner of such assembly is a matter of grave concern.

Accordingly, Bilderberg Group – the Secret Society governing world should either allow free public access to the secret annual meeting or quit making decisions on the fate of population.

I speak for myself as well considering my identity, life and profile is distorted to suit elitists prejudice.

The so-called elitists agenda is the systemic abuse of power and self-entitlement to privileges and benefits at the expense of ordinary people worldwide.

In the modern era, the self-proclaimed elitists in control of mass communication, print, television and social media, politics, economy, entertainment and religion to cite a few among many other domains, shutting the world from gaining information on discussions that are later implemented in adverse actions is deceitful.

The false propaganda, proxies and concocted enactments to evade indefensible position would no longer fly since the Bilderberg group formed with chosen members evidently colluding in secret conclave hiding behind fear mongering using threats and tactics against anyone challenging them to end the clandestine congregation.

What is holding the Bildebergers from emerging out of darkness and let non-elite media and public participation or live broadcast of the meeting?

It is not that they are working on secret formula for a special ice cream flavor they don’t want the world to know and surprise the global consumers with a unique treat of their lifetime.

Anything other than transparent summit confirms secretive sinister activities against universal interests.

Those who regard themselves invincible proved inevitable failure without exception. Were they not? History and contemporary events serve testimony to the fact.

Thank you.

Questions for the day?

By Padmini Arhant

1. Why is the news media from anywhere especially those touted as credible and prestigious not seeking full disclosure and free public access to Bilderberg annual meeting considering critical decisions are made at this secret gathering?

The circumvention and evasion of anything to do with Bilderberg despite participation in this anti-democratic conclave by U.S. and other western administration officials,  some U.S. Congress members and foreign government representatives is not surprising.

The globalists claiming to promote democracy and human rights in these meetings is humorous for their actions verify otherwise in barring public and non-elite media personnel violently dispersed deploying taxpayer funded law enforcement agency and rough handling of peaceful and non-violent dissent.

This year the Bilderbergers have targeted war on information. The dumbing down public via media influence and false propaganda of anyone challenging their undemocratic and unethical devious schemes continues unabated prompting them to pursue underhanded tactics and defense mechanism.

A. When will the parasitic existence among European Royals with Britain included – the chief attendees in Bilderberg secret convention end?

Perhaps soon simply because of their unscrupulous intent to destroy former colonies and home base with little or no concern for ordinary people on whose back these elitists (narcissists) are riding having never earned a living and seized from the state at the vast majority expense.

As for the academia representing the Bilderberg group, the investment in education with titles is evidently squandered in stirring communal and religion based divide exacerbating socioeconomic situations in diverse cultural nations under the guise of advocating social justice that is imprinted in their legacy as travesty of justice.

2. Is it because media was never free and independent? Instead they represent globalists agenda?

The fact leading news organizations in the United States, Britain and elsewhere presence in the Bilderberg conventions that are possible on invitations only swearing allegiance to Bilderberg with a commitment not to share the meeting discussion with public or anyone not part of Secret Society explains the silence from them.

3. Similarly, how come news organizations and media outlets exercise free speech to lambast truth speaker and lack courage to oppose lies and deception from within and prominent forces in the country?

Their behavior to truth speaker is displayed in the hope of intimidating their arch rival. The grand complicity in all wrongdoings concerning them and fraternity in the country is convenience to continue with business as usual.

4. Is there convergence of thoughts between media and globalists due to ownership by latter and collusion from former?

Absolutely.  In synonymous to birds of same feather flock together.

5.  Is this truly a free world and free society?

The concept of free world and free society is nothing more than a delusion. The free world exists for ruling elites (narcissists) to freely exploit resources and human capital at will. The so-called free society governed by Secret Society is against freedom for all with classism, caste, race, religion and gender inequality vigorously promoted under the pretext of spreading harmony.

6. If so, Then why are there restrictions and reservations, invasion of others privacy while protecting own secrecy?

These conditions are imposed as prerogatives and elitist exclusive power.

7. Is corruption a crime?  – Only in the eyes of the beholder.

8. Are elections free and fair? – Yes. They are in distributing cash and items for free to buy votes and receiving donations from anyone to be fair.

9. Are these organizations – UN, UNSC, EU and NATO parallel powers to undermine sovereignty and corral complicity on crimes against humanity? – Status quo speaks for itself in the unipolar world.

10. Who rules the world? Secret Society in the apparently transparent system.

11. What is democracy? Government of, for and by the privileged club.

12. What is Social Media? – Platform for subjugation and denial of reality.
