India – Corporate run Government

Padmini Arhant

While Indian government and administration under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah are dedicated to contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Registry Citizens (NRC) and now citing long existing National population registry (NPR) (census) to maneuver the embattled Hindutva ideology isolating specific demography in an effort to allocate vote banks,

The most favored corporate families viz Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani and Gautam Adhani among others in economic sector essentially run politics, economy, judiciary and media.

Not surprisingly, Reliance industries and Jio Telecom company CEO Mukesh Ambani reportedly per bloomberg.com adds $17 billion dollars to personal net worth in 2019 leading to individual total net worth at $61 billion claiming the status as Asia’s richest individual.

The corporate monopoly defiantly in gross violation of anti-trust and capitalist economy characteristics such as fair opportunity to all major and minor businesses to compete effectively enabling market determined factors to yield returns and profitability across economy rather than sole advantage to particular corporate group or family.

Furthermore, market economy benefitting consumers in terms of choices and options in quality, price and service is phased out in the prevalent economic environment.

The government pledge to protect selective corporate families interest at the vast majority expense where nearly a billion population is forced into record unemployment, inflation and sluggish economic growth arguably embarked on deflecting public attention from burgeoning economic strife alongside the meteoric rise of Mukesh Ambani and Ambani industries questionably held above law and exempt from transparency and accountability on tax compliance and various rules and regulations otherwise applicable to regular ordinary business entrepreneurs and retail merchants in the economy.

Indian population especially the educated and skilled youth in formal and informal sectors confronted with dismal economic and career prospects justifiably frustrated about status quo.

Indian government’s misplaced priority in enforcing laws and amendments on citizenship act causing unnecessary tension and anxiety primarily to distract citizens focus from chosen corporate expansion amassing personal wealth should be a grave concern for significant population struggling to make ends meet and overwhelming segments in abject poverty.

Corporate run politics and governments are not to be expected to bridge the gap between the haves and have nots when the system is solidified in quid pro quo for exclusive benefits and privilege.

Indian government and politics together bear responsibility for the ever increasing economic disparity and social inequality in society.

Indian citizens dealing with serious economic crises legitimately require to seek government action on reviving economy and immediate end to partisan politics premised on religion, caste and communal polarization.

Unless the situation and issues are addressed reversing the conditions, those reaping the harvest too would sooner than later experience the free fall of economy currently heading in the undesirable direction.

The prosperity of any or few depriving the rest from basic existence and survival is unsustainable resulting in inevitable negative outcome.

People power proved formidable in resisting unconventional practice and divisive politics.

Thank you.

India – Constitution and Democracy under Siege

India – Constitution and Democracy under Siege

Padmini Arhant

Reiterating earlier call for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah to step down from office in light of status quo specifically deteriorating law and order deploying undemocratic means using public funded law enforcement and other cadre to silence democracy resulting in innocent lives deaths and unlawful detention of peaceful participants voicing their legitimate concern over the unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Act and religion biased Naturalization law.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah’s religion and caste oriented politics is the epitome of their political career. BJP government desperate attempts to distract citizens attention from burgeoning economic issues such as high unemployment in all sectors, agrarian crisis, decline in economic growth and productivity, massive banking fraud severely affecting banking industry creating panic and frustration among common depositors having lost all their savings earlier from PM Narendra Modi’s disastrous demonetization and now in the state run banks mismanagement of public funds allowing unscrupulous members associated with political parties and economic sector to default and abscond on government and political opposition watch is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Since assuming office in the second term touted as Modi 2.0 by state operated media and other communication outlets, PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah together embarked on controversial and counterproductive topics beginning with Article 370 abrogation, Criminalizing Triple Talaq (Divorce) among Muslim community while turning a blind eye to similar or worse situations among Hindus and other demography, declaring Lord Ram Temple construction through hamstrung Supreme Court’s final verdict on the embattled Babri Masjid (Mosque) site in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh comprising largest Muslim population…are BJP’s election manifesto preliminary actions.

Lately, PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah rammed Naturalization Law and Citizenship Amendment Act cherry picking three neighbors in the entire India sub-continent and South Asia. They are Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh isolating Muslims in religion based asylum in the Northeast and rest of India. PM Narendra Modi justified the conspicuous discrimination against Muslims in this process stating they belonged to the majority in their country of origin compared to the BJP government empathized groups viz. Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Christians and Parsis in those three nations ignoring the persecuted Sri Lankan Tamils living in Indian Southern State Tamilnadu and elsewhere who are ardent followers of Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma  evident in Hindu Temples erasement in Sri Lanka during ethnic cleansing by recently re-emerged Mahinda Rajapaksha regime (not without backend international and Indian political maneuver) in Colombo.

Likewise, the ostracized Rohingya muslims as minority in Myanmar with children, elderly and women upon arrival on Indian soil were expelled on unsubstantiated terrorism charges by this government showing little or no consideration for gross human rights violations experienced by them in Myanmar.

The irony in the ongoing catastrophic strategy of transforming India into a Hindu State and welcoming Hindu minorities from Muslim majority nations in the neighborhood completely neglects the plight and miseries of so-called Dalits, Adivasis (Natives), Indigenous, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Class, Other Backward Class (OBC) representing overwhelming majority Hindus subject to atrocities and extreme violence from Hindutva zealots under the pretext of cow vigilantes tied to organizations viz. Bhartiya Gau Raksha Dal / Indian Cow Protection Organization and other fundamentalist groups directly operating under RSS run BJP nationwide. Notwithstanding the land confiscations from various tribes and farmers to benefit certain corporate families like Gautam Adhani, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani and the likes having close ties with the government and political class in general.

The interesting factor is the BJP government in New Delhi and other states /provinces have long been involved in beef export to near and far destinations amid fomenting violence leading to mob lynching on this issue against muslims and people determined as social outcasts referred to as Dalits in society.

Where is the humanitarianism from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah towards sweeping majority i.e. the designated lower caste Hindus enduring generational prejudice in urban areas and untouchability in rural parts of the country with the practice institutionalized in the past five years of BJP government?

The incumbent government’s consistent pattern in utilizing polarization politics to deflect mass grievance and anger over economic woes to BJP manufactured social and humanitarian chaos confirms the administration’s inability to effectively address the growing economic problems demanding prompt solutions that appears to be unavailable given the government priority on anything other than the economy.

The government selective raids and investigation on corruption scandals excluding large swath of members within and among alliances in addition to corporate favorites and celebrities in the entertainment with an alarming record of tax evasions, offshore hoarding in tax havens, black money and embezzlements reported in Panama Gate and other national as well as international corruption exposures barely attract the authorities interest.

Contrarily, in neighboring Pakistan, the Panama Gate revelation caused political storm ousting the accused former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and family with imprisonment freezing the assets of Sharif family for fraudulent dealings and illegal wealth amassment in the economically struggling nation with substantial population in abject poverty.

India is no different in terms of impoverishment with the poor and poorest survival hanging in balance by the minute of their lives whilst the rich, famous and powerful stashing wealth overseas and in disguised investments lasting several generations are untouchable and held above law. The reverence and constant adulations of them making headlines and in news columns overcast criminal indulgence exempting them from any inquiry and rule of law.

Indian politics has evolved into betting, bidding and bareknuckle crony capitalism. The corporate run government with major political party deploying underhanded tactics to intimidate and lure members of opposition is heading towards consolidating power unbridled in enforcing and executing policies and agenda rejecting consequential upheavals from such endeavors.

The fragmented and fragile Indian opposition fraught with internal strife pose no threats to the ruling BJP having successfully established the horse trading in forming or toppling government at regional and national level.

The opposition has no meaning or relevance witnessed in latest state assembly elections with parties forging alliance regardless of political ideology and platform sharing the common goal to access power even if that calls for alternating terms in office.

The victim in the current political, economic and social environment is none other than the average citizen. The middle class and downwards bearing the brunt of the escalating abuse of power targeting the most vulnerable and weak segments whether it be muslims or the economically burdened lower class confined to accepting government’s lack luster performance in the economic front unassailable.

History is testimony to events beyond threshold delivering outcome against anything unsustainable.

Indian democracy is indeed at risk and the nation beckons not only forward, progressive, open minds but also anyone who deeply care about their present and immediate future to rein in authority wasting taxpayer funds and national resources in unnecessary and futile exercise with serious repercussions.

Thank you.

India – Regime Change in Order

India – Regime Change in Order

Padmini Arhant

Whenever power is misinterpreted and misused, such actions ominously determine imminent demise of such power regardless of democratic status undermined and weakened to maintain radical rule.

The globalists backed current regime under leadership Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s fundamentalism having reached crescendo is an alternative to distract national attention on serious economic situation. The administration’s desperation is on display.

PM Narendra Modi’s rise to power primarily premised  on communal violence, divisive politics involving violent killings of innocent civilians of different faiths including followers of Sanatana Dharma that are otherwise known as Hindus is a widely known fact.

Casteism predominantly favoring politics long been considered potent tool in the divide and rule strategy adopted from colonial past and present.

Religion on the other hand been effective in identifying majoritarianism for political mileage to politics lacking in prudent economic policy and reliable efficient governance.

PM Narendra Modi pledge of allegiance to crony capitalism in quid pro quo reflected in India’s ailing economy and precipitous decline of all things representing constitutionally set up laws and institutions stripped of their autonomy and independent jurisdiction to suit the administration’s maneuvering and mismanagement.

PM Narendra Modi and partner as well as BJP party President Amit Shah’s politics survive on devious tactics deploying bribes and back alley intimidations using public funded government agencies viz. Criminal Investigation Bureau (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department against members in political opposition and anyone raising questions against government’s lack luster performance on economy or general environment.

In the absence of economic growth contributing to soaring unemployment and  industrial gloom alongside rising inflation on produces like onions and other items, the incumbent PM Narendra Modi government hopelessly rely on religion and social issues introducing Citizenship Act inducting discriminatory Naturalization law targeting specific religious demography i.e. Muslims is least surprising.

Perhaps those behind the passing of legislation in Indian Parliament to isolate Muslims in India meticulously aimed at economically and socially vulnerable segments in society.

Otherwise, PM Narendra Modi’s affinity and affiliation to entertainment industry dominant with Muslim personalities would not be invariably provided immunity on crimes like hit and run man slaughter of a Hindu pedestrian belonging to poor family by Bollywood Actor Salman Khan protected by BJP government.

Similarly, the Bollywood Actress and BJP MP, the Muslim apostate Hema Malini responsible for the death of then three year old Hindu child not long ago in automobile collision let scot-free would not occur.

These Muslim film celebrities are granted impunity against crimes despite the loss of Hindu lives categorically verify BJP and PM Narendra Modi as well as Party Chief Amit Shah’s flawed agenda.

Politics never care for the less fortunate, deprived, disadvantaged and disenfranchised though they largely comprise the vote banks during election.

Politics run by the rich, famous and radical elements crave for controversy to masquerade colossal failures in policy, plans and programs if at all there were any to lead the nation in a proper direction.

PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah absolute control over media not barring the so-called alternative, independent sources airing online and via television networks are the worst as their true colors revealed in propagating government strategy and external forces scripts to stay alive.

The communication outlets not excluding social media IT sleeper cells recruited to assault government provided names notably segregated as arch nemesis in the whole operation. As a result there is no institution or medium that are not marginalized to serve government’s exclusive interest.

Indian electorate were adequately warned and advised against re-election of Narendra Modi Amit Shah government on this website well ahead of national election under the title

Re-electing Narendra Modi for second term would be a disaster for India.

Yet this advice was not heeded and defied bearing the brunt of it today while some loosely letting their tongue to abuse me and hurling incessant insults much to self-detriment.

Needless to say those playing second fiddle to any regimes will always find scapegoat and accuse those whom they perpetually chase with their tirade and diatribe.

As for India’s political opposition, the members having fair share of skeletons in their cupboard are ideal for authoritarianism to emerge and flourish in power.

Opposition cutting a deal with ruling government to cover each other’s back is politics as usual.

PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah’s apparent crusade is the beginning of the end of their undemocratic and unconstitutional authority.

Not to mention the sacrilege of religion i.e. Hinduism they claim to declare as their sole proprietary identity.

What is next for the regime?

Bull dozing Taj Mahal – that has generated enormous revenue and continues to be a cash cow in tourism for Hindutva domain Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi.

How about Qutub minar together with other famous monuments and tourist attractions that were built in Moghul era that has stood the test of time and worst periods like colonial parting gift – the partition of India?

The world has witnessed the rise and fall of authoritarianism often led in a manner like an unbridled horse headed over the cliff.

Is this the leadership of PM Narendra Modi desired and cheered for when the supposedly democrat former President Barack with a middle name Hussein Obama exercised executive power and intervened to bail out colleague and friend Narendra Modi in U.S. lawsuit on human rights abuse and 2002 riots in Gujarat under then Chief Minister Narendra Modi?

How about the next door neighbor Pakistan’s cricketer turned Prime Minister Imran Khan rooting for re-election of PM Narendra Modi in 2019 only to deny Indian Muslims their citizenship and statehood?

Notwithstanding the Russian President Vladimir Putin bestowing PM Narendra Modi with the coveted civilian honor right in the middle of Indian general election to prove Russian influence on elections anywhere in the world.

The global samaritans did not want to be left behind in this race. Accordingly, the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation honor PM Narendra Modi with the humanitarian award as a slap on the wrist of all those victims having suffered and enduring pain and agony throughout Narendra Modi’s political tenure.

Last but not the least, the muslim states – Maldives to Middle East viz. UAE and Saudi Arabia awarding Mr. Narendra Modi despite the plight of muslims in Kashmir and all over India under Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi could only be happening in the world of politics where to each their own only matters.

What happens to the rest consequential to such phony accolades and titles is typically designated as the fate of the unfortunate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi step down from power along with your party Chief Amit Shah and spare the nation as well as Sanatana Dharma from further misery and embarrassment.

For those countering in political class defense,

If not Modi then who?

India existed before and will continue irrespective of any regimes entry or exit from power.

None are indispensable. Neither are any exempt from Karma and individual’s karmic effects.

The world deserves optimism and opportunity for all not sinister activities designed to meander and misguide captive audience at will.

Thank you.
