Human Suffering Discrimination
Padmini Arhant
There are variety in discriminations as the world gets bogged down in narratives than truth and factual information.
The media rancor and opinionated slurs dominant in air waves and all or any available communication outlets continue with no moment of pause.
The denial in tragedies resulting in deaths and destruction of innocent lives however being discriminated is the worst and ugliest form.
The people who died and still dying from the global pandemic is irrefutable and incontrovertible. Similarly the victims of unnecessary warfare in Ukraine costing the lives of Ukrainians and Russians are equally regrettable.
The global pandemic triggered from lab manufactured deadly pathogen consuming and crippling lives in millions is as reprehensible as the ongoing war against the people of Ukraine brought upon from the days of western insurrection in Kiev Maidan Square in 2014.
Those inflicting deaths and devastation via the global pandemic or bombing and shelling cities forcing evacuation of population from their homeland cannot justify their actions one way or another.
Human pain and suffering evaluated on geographical lines and partisan politics protecting and shielding those responsible for colossal health and economic disaster via the pandemic while blowing the whistle on warfare reveals true colors of prejudice.
The power, authority, wealth and influential status at the helm misused and abused delivering humanitarian misery, health, economic and political crises whether in biowarfare such as the pandemic or the military invasion and occupation in Ukraine are unacceptable and condemnable.
The call for accountability on the global pandemic with grueling ramifications worldwide is persona non grata (unwelcome) for those expressing selective empathy on the events of their choice.
Such discrimination in these developments is beneath human value and disposition raising moral ground disingenuous in nature.

Facts and Fascism
Padmini Arhant
The hierarchy in a society is created by those unable to demonstrate natural ability depriving those whom they fear on merit based performance. Those feared, vilified and isolated are shunned to anonymity while the ones behind the trend as architects and catalysts unabashedly trumpet own name along with genealogy is the norm.
The societal discrimination and prejudice are predominantly culminations of inferiority complex feigned as superiority in self-consolation among those who have nothing to showcase except detrimental attributes and apocalypse. The personal assaults and insinuations in the last decade up until now is a cowardly tactic hiding behind disclaimers and references smothered in contemptuous propaganda deflecting attention from self deceit and destruction, the hallmark of the sources and servile contingency.
The so-called social media platforms reduced to stagnant sewage flooded with venomous ocean aptly representing the swamp and dirty deep state while banning truth and factual data speaks volume on status quo. These developments are typical in a system forged as democracy with zero tolerance to alternative views and participation. The traits suitably reflect fascism not democracy.
There are myriad forces and agents engaged in consolidated efforts to maintain apocalyptic goals with little or no concern for end result experienced thus far. Among them, there are desperations prompting provocations for cheap hall of fame and wanton publicity. The misguided elements and factions hired paying pittance are deployed in vicious misinformation and distortion. Sadly for them, they are the only hope for those in precipitous decline.
Contextually, the rancor reeking in inflammatory remarks and unsubstantiated narratives unveil hidden hypocrisy and platitudes compromising intended purpose. The relentless attacks targeting their contemporary nemesis under the guise of ridiculing India’s freedom movement leader Mahatma Gandhi is the lowest and pathetic in style, substance and nuance.
The so-called educated unemployed youth serving the corrupt political class hideous ideology exploiting religion and social stigma known as the caste system in India is classic degenerative deformed strategy. The casteism premised on privileges to those at the apex of the man made hierarchy and proclivity in alienation of other segments as outcasts and untouchables prevalent until today in a nation heralding seventy five years of independence is a clarion call on long overdue abolition. Yet any mention on the abandonment of the archaic antiquated discriminatory practice is confronted with radical fundamentalist reaction from the supposedly educated creed adopting confrontational approach over rational engagement.
In the contentious caste termination proposal, the brahmins seated highest in the self-designated pyramid are at odds considering the progress and prosperity they continue to enjoy at others’ expense since Independent India secured through hard fought freedom from the colonial British Raj with the legacy of brutality and oppression. The non-violent freedom movement initiated and prolonged under the defiant leadership of the now most hated, abused and caricatured Mahatma Gandhi was the corner stone for liberty, freedom and sovereignty in the oppressed twentieth century.
The achievement is an astonishing feat on the strength and power of Ahimsa – non-violence not only in Indian history but also a monumental example in world history. In the global arena where weapons not excluding nuclear options are loosely floated to exhibit Superpower status, peaceful resolutions are not desirable in mitigating and resolving crises. The historic events such as independence through non-violence is a rare and often the most challenged position.
Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse, a brahmin in Indian caste identification and a hardline fundamentalist in political alliance with Rashtriya swayamsevak sangh (RSS), the organization seeded and funded by colonial British Raj is defended by brahmins (applicable to only those involved) and political affiliates prioritizing brahmin caste orientation over independence.
The slanderous and preposterous allegations against whether nuanced Mahatma Gandhi or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi otherwise referred to as the Father of the nation i.e. India is condemnable. The objectionable fictionalized accounts verifiably indicative of the political and social groups subjugation to insidious domestic ideology and foreign influence.
Furthermore, Indian political class and caste abolition resistance recruited online provocateurs in India and overseas associate Mahatma Gandhi with Nazi leader Adolf Hitler with unfounded charges claiming the former as Nazi empathizer and oppressor. The reality is the BJP government controlled and run by Hindutva ideologues RSS as mentioned above is representative of colonial British Raj, the British royal family being the Nazi descendants as Saxe Gotha Coburg having adopted the Windsor title evolving into imperial power.
In semblance with brahmins in Indian caste pyramid, the Jewish politics in Israel maintain close ties and respect Nazi family – the British royal family from Germany. The world’s wealthiest club family – the Rothschild with Jewish profile are intimate with the Nazi clan – the British royal family in Britain.
The Israeli politics ties with Nazi descendant British royal family and inversely irreconcilable differences stalling the Middle East peace process with Palestinians who are not even remotely related to the Nazi’s holocaust is the biggest irony in the global scene.
Above all, the RSS offshoot BJP along with Congress as well as other political parties in India are heavily invested in caste divisions and sub-divisions adapting colonial divide and conquer policy. They compete with one another in proving their brahmin heritage citing the white cotton thread called Janaeu worn by brahmin males as proof of their brahmin caste though this tradition does not originally belong to brahmins like everything else today witnessed in identity theft and cultural subversion. The practice of wearing cotton thread on their torso was seized from ancient Tamil artisans such as goldsmiths, blacksmiths, textile weavers, carpenters, sculptors…and other experts in different skills not barring poets and scholars renowned for their occupation and talent at that time.
The important factor is none of these skilled members were grouped or classified in any caste system seen in the illegitimate transformation at a later time continued until today. The Tamil custom of wearing white cotton thread on their torso among artisans and various professionals were originally a white flower garland that dried in the hot weather during the day leaving behind a white thread used in making the garland. This white thread was essentially and correctly called punool – pu is flower and nool meaning thread in Tamil. The punool adorned by native Tamil craftsmen and service providers in different occupations relevant to society then were known as parthanars, again a Tamil word meaning the service providers engaged in an array of services to the Tamil community those days prior to the imposition of casteism in Indian society from foreign invaders introducing themselves as Aryans upon arrival in India. The Tamil word parthanar transitioned into parpanars quoted by ignorant political faction in Tamil Nadu – the Dravida Munetra Kazhagam (DMK and ADMK) and the rest following the ignorance chiding the reference brahmins and insisting on the term parpanars as appropriate without realizing the actual origin from indigenous Tamils deceitfully misappropriated to those referring to selves as Aryans in Indian society.
Now these self described Aryans in Indian society are predominantly brahmins and among them those currently preoccupied in Indian political class instigated innuendoes on present Mahatma Gandhi as Adolf Hitler admirer fail to realize their direct link with Nazi leadership Adolf Hitler, an Aryan by race determination and has publicly declared as such to this effect.
The bizarre twist in identity recognition for brahmins in the caste system is on the one hand they claim themselves Aryans by race. The racial definition associate them with publicly known Nazi leader Adolf Hitler in Germany. On the other hand the same brahmins also acknowledge them as Jews of India. The reason behind the latter certification for brahmins is their concentrated power in politics and emphasize the status analogous to Jews dominance in American and western world politics especially United States politicians’ allegiance to Israel instead of United States they are elected to serve under constitutional oath and paid for by U.S. taxpayer.
In the Indian epic Ramayana, the character Ravana – a demon King of Sri Lanka is a brahmin. Not surprisingly, the criticism of Lord Ram in Ramayana persistently emerge from brahmins such as the BJP ruling party’s Rajya Sabha (the upper house) member Subramanian Swamy, a brahmin touting casteism as Vedic inscription, constantly relates to the incident in Ramayana involving Lord Ram and the monkey King Bali, commonly known as Vaali. The BJP member Subramanian Swamy frequently reference the sequence in the epic Ramayana denoting Lord Ram as dishonest whenever the Indian political class scandals are in spotlight.
The flip side of racial connotation in the southern state Tamil Nadu is categorizing Tamilians or Tamils as dravidians, a contrarian characterization based on Tamil Nadu political party Dravida Munetra Kazhagam (DMK) founder non-Tamilian E. Venkata Ramasamy aka Periyar. The indigenous Tamils are not Dravidians as misunderstood by some in India and offshore. The Dravidians are immigrants like Aryans from foreign shores in South, South East, Central and West Asia. They are not Tamils as falsely portrayed and believed until now in Tamil Nadu. The dravida and Dravid community more familiar in the Southern State Karnataka and western state Maharashtra border is imported into Tamil Nadu by Dravida Munetra Kazhagam (DMK) founder E.V.Ramasamy, a native of Karnataka.
There are lot of similarities and congruence between brahmins and Indian political establishment at the center and regional level since brahmins occupy key government positions and preferential status in governments and public sector. Hence they are at great advantage and often instrumental in policy making and planning. They wheel lot of power as administrative functionaries and have direct access in government affairs. The brahmins role in life-threatening discipline like defense force, national guards viz. the border security force and police force is nil or negligible. These fields are generally designated to the lower castes and minorities by default.
Under these circumstances, the social disintegration and disenfranchisement is enforced upon the oppressed and persecuted segments in the superficial caste structure established demoting and degrading the original population Tamils in Tamil Nadu spreading nationwide over a period and worsening in the present time.
The caste system in India is the root of social issues providing the Indian political groups opportunities to polarize society on caste and religion politics. The Hindutva is the decoy to defame the sanctity and spirituality of Saiva (God Shiva) presided path to Soul purification leading to Mukti or freedom from bondage of birth and death cycle. The other aspects of the religion represented by Lord Vishnu and Goddess Durga or Sakti have significant impact on the followers seeking guidance and relief from sorrows and suffering.
Anything proved counterproductive evident in casteism is a burden on society and ultimately dissolved for the greater good and collective benefits rather than selective growth and empowerment. These changes are necessary despite bitter battle opposing the dismantling of caste system and any form of prejudice against anyone related to caste or other religion in the local and national front.

Self-Empowerment

Self-Empowerment
Padmini Arhant
Welcome to Self-Empowerment.
Self-Empowerment is the base for Republic empowerment.
The governments are run by oligarchy i.e. Corporatized system using public funds. Privatization is the trend in the globalized economy. The chief beneficiaries in privatization are corporations and shareholders. Corporatized governance deny ordinary citizens fair access and opportunity.
Corporate run government policies exclusively favor them. Corporatized governance bear no responsibility on losses to taxpayers and severe damages to economy as well as environment. There is minimal or no oversight on deals benefitting companies on government projects viz. defense contracts handled by private company.
Hence, no checks and balances which means none held accountable on corruption. Transparency is a misnomer with no internal and importantly external audit.
For example – The U.S. government deployed private army Blackwater later dubbed as Xe and now changed into Academi committed atrocities in Iraq, Afghanistan…and in Ukraine with license to kill besides gross human rights violations.
Oligarchy run governments use national defense force as private army for wars, destabilization of sovereign foreign nations and derail economy via sanctions. These actions are directed by organizations, think tanks and institutions representing oligarchy hegemonic goals and strategic dominance.
Government in reality is Corporation’s proxy delivering corporate interests. Government’s other wing is special interests group with own political ideology.
This leaves the government as representatives of private entities and organizations. Citizens are merely used as instrument to legitimize illegitimacy through election. Elections are run by oligarchy with massive funding in campaigns and candidacy.
Governments pledge allegiance to corporate financiers behind election campaign.
In fact, it is ordinary folks money circulated between governments and corporate funders. Ordinary people tax money generously handed to corporations by government. These handouts involve major tax breaks, government subsidies and many exemptions seldom distributed or trickle down to bottom in the workforce. The big corporations in return utilize a portion of common citizens money converted into slush funds and invested in election campaigns to secure government loyalty.
Major corporations enjoy the most favored company (MFC) status in quid pro quo.
Corporate owned media and political party run TV networks to control communication.
Free speech is a one way street with a dead end allowing only government to mislead muted audience. Ordinary citizens voices are muzzled and their advocates subject to government scrutiny. The system is fraudulently declared democracy while stifling republic status.
There is little or no tolerance to alternative perspectives and they are regarded a threat to authority.
As a result, freedom is under siege creating do or die situation. However, there is hope.
How can citizens free themselves from shackles?
Ordinary people in society are taxpayers, workers and consumers at large. Yet, average citizens are denied fair economic opportunity, income and social equality.
First, identify corporations behind government including companies and groups in disguise.
Then, remember you – the consumer possess the power towards Self-Empowerment.
Your decision to buy or avail products and services as end customer impact business.
Accordingly, boycott companies engaged in depriving your individual rights and economic progress.
Election reform is mandatorily required. Enforce ballot paper electoral process to prevent vote rigging and fraud witnessed time and time again in the so-called democratic elections.
Public mandate via referendum on public financing of election is the beginning. Setting election expenditure with strict limits and guidelines is critical. Similarly, demand political parties to disclose their donors and funders in public domain.
Set up cross verification process to confirm accuracy on political funding and voting. Political parties funding should be checked at all times and not just limited to election season.
Reject political factions and candidates vying for public office as corporate agent.
Bar candidates with criminal records, serious civic violations and corruption charges.
These are preliminary steps towards freeing society from oligarchy and organizations run government.
Again, remind yourself and them that consumer is the ultimate authority determining success and failure of economy and politics.
Watch out for fake government critics launched on social media and main street to deceive public on factual events confirming democracy and constitution crises in society. The government organized pseudo semi-baked clowns are paid trolls to stymie genuine voice. Poor imitation is self-mockery and buffoonery of the paid performer.
Audience exercising discernment in recognizing original from fakery dished out of bakery would be wise.
Rise to the occasion and claim your liberty, the inalienable natural right of all beings in the world.
Freedom is non-negotiable right of all citizens barring hierarchy and prejudice.
Get started in Self-Empowerment to make this world a better place for all not selective few in society.
Thank you.

India – Eliminating Casteism and Untouchability
Padmini Arhant
Casteism rooted in fundamentalist ideology exerting superiority, inflicting generational prejudice and atrocities against those deemed lower caste or untouchable in Indian society is to be phased out liberating caste victims from draconian caste domination.
Considering the stigma and burden of guilt on those responsible for shackling India in archaic and antiquated caste hierarchy over eons with no remorse or accountability on crimes committed thus far, the long overdue evolution is necessary and imminent marking the beginning of the end of injustice.
Those against the inevitable dismissal and eradication of caste cancer would obviously categorize themselves in oppressive and regressive regime as political faction and societal domain.
Contrarily, the rational minds pledged to progressive India enabling freedom, individual rights and fairness for all would facilitate positive social, economic and political development.
Their respective actions and decisions would definitively reflect own character, patriotism or the lack thereof and importantly human value.
The choices are clear for all especially the caste victims and youth population representing the majority in Indian society.
Time to act now to leave caste behind and lead India towards tolerant and vibrant democracy.
Thank you.

United States Withdrawal from UN Human Rights Council
June 21, 2018
United States Withdrawal from UN Human Rights Council
Padmini Arhant
United States withdrawal from UN Human Rights Council citing the latter as a hypocrite and self serving appropriately applies to accusers than the accused considering own legacy and status quo. United States reason for withdrawal is attributed to UN Human Rights Council’s ‘Chronic bias towards Israel.’
United States decision suggest neither US nor the ally Israel are independent nations. United States move on Israel’s behalf creates the position for US as a vassal state to Israel. Simultaneously, Israel riding on United States coat tail on all matter concerning Israel proves Israel’s protracted dependency including public relations undermining any legitimacy as a sovereign state. Under these circumstances, both entities are required to ascertain the role they play for proper representation in the international forum.
As for human rights violations, United States immigration issue reportedly leaves the fate of 2000 children hanging in balance as they remain in the detention center subsequent to the halt on separation of immigrant families and their offsprings. Notwithstanding the lack of interest and responsibility in U.S. Congress to pass the immigration bill on dreamers and amnesty for the significant number of immigrants facing deportation. Then there are detainees in the infamous Guantanamo Bay held for nearly two decades denying them habeas corpus i.e. legal representation in addition to inmates families having no access to these men who are sons, fathers, husband, brother to someone overseas.
Similarly, Israel’s trajectory in Palestinian territory is well known worldwide. Israel’s occupation of Palestine and since then human rights abuse sparing none viz. children kept in Israeli Defense Force controlled Administrative detention center outside West Bank without contacts with parents, the Saharonim prison where African asylum seekers are held in the Israeli facility on Negev Desert and unilateral blockade against Gazans for more than a decade forcing the densely populated Gaza strip under siege summarize United States and Israel’s human rights record.
The US administrations tradition pardoning those convicted of crimes and serious charges predominantly based on political preferences and exchange of favors while detaining hard working immigrants with clean profile for mass deportation is a paradoxical policy with conflicting ethical standards.
Accordingly, on hypocrisy both Israel and United States remain unopposed veterans in this domain.
United States retreating from UN Human Rights Council in Israel’s defense is imprudent diminishing U.S. image and position in humanitarian affairs.
Thank you.

United States – Executive Action Halting Family Separation
Padmini Arhant
The latest action halting immigrant family separation is welcome. However, keeping them in detention center is not a viable option as it poses health challenges among other problems for the detainees under such conditions. Moreover, the legislation on dreamers act along with amnesty for eligible vast majority is a priority ending the lingering immigration matter.
National security is directly tied to United States domestic and foreign policy. The government with administration and Congress directing focus on rectifying United States foreign policy that promotes sponsoring terrorism against sovereign states like Syria, indefinite occupation and warfare in Afghanistan, interference in foreign states political affairs causing turmoil and chaos like in Ukraine, Venezuela, Sudan, Yemen and Middle East, deterrence in the establishment of Palestinian Statehood are few examples that are to be addressed in recognition of flawed strategies deserving conclusion.
Above all, United States long forgotten human rights violations towards inmates held indefinitely denying them due process and legal representation for nearly two decades in the infamous Guantanamo Bay merits closure allowing the prisoners and their families access to free and fair judicial trial. Such action would demonstrate United States respect for lives and human value.
The domestic policy on gun control despite repeat incidents in school campus and public premise remain a threat to citizens security and they are not related to immigrants and immigration status. The former administration’s Fast and Furious program exacerbated violence in Mexico and other Latin American nations forcing the local residents to flee the violent zone.
The two areas alone – U.S. domestic and foreign policy endanger lives in the home front and worldwide.
It’s about time to acknowledge mistakes and pursue the path of peace, tolerance, fairness and equal opportunity for all.
Thank you.

United States – Immigration Crackdown

United States – Immigration Crackdown
Padmini Arhant
The current administration extreme measure on immigration crackdown separating children from families is a crime to begin with requiring due diligence rather than hardline undemocratic and inhumane approach slighting humanitarian values that tarnish America’s image and credibility.
The White House and Justice department are urged not to adopt harsh and unconstitutional strategy splitting children and young members from their parents and close family under the guise of national security.
The administration’s ongoing practice is in direct violation of human rights that does not bode well amid involvement in peaceful endeavors on international affairs.
These children are United States citizens by birth and their constitutional rights to live in the country of birth with their biological parents and nucleus family merits attention and compliance by authorities in breach of these citizens civil and human rights.
National security cannot be the reason to threaten innocent children and young members of immigrant families as they are not endangering lives with overwhelming immigrant and undocumented members in United States are hard working and making significant contributions to the economy and society in general. Notwithstanding them being the taxpayers on the meager income paying taxes on consumer items and other products as well as services unlike the wealthiest evading taxes and exploiting consumer data for personal and corporate profitability.
United States is the land of immigrants with many having arrived from different parts of the world in similar conditions like the present immigrant population facing deportation. The process to expel these large number of people without allowing them to resolve issues in a fair, credible and compassionate manner that would be appropriate appears to be a political move to appease small groups in society who have forgotten their lineage and descend that links them offshore.
The crime situation applied as the reason behind nonchalant expulsion of immigrants seeking permanent status is a result of domestic policy such as the previous administration’s Fast and Furious program supplying arms to drug cartels in Mexico, Columbia and other Latin American nations creating violent environment for residents of these countries forcing them to flee their towns and villages in search of safety and security.
The White House and Justice department’s latest decision without considering these children and youth rights as citizens of the United States and impact on separating them from their immediate families is deeply regrettable.
Besides, the accelersted crackdown has adverse effects on agriculture industry, hospitality service, construction work and other areas of economic sector employing them that are hard to replace due to lack of interest and willingness amongst locals to accept the poor employment conditions viz. low wages and long hours benefiting employers up until now. Not to mention such exploitation equally deserving action to correct the disparity in employment situation.
Immigration policy targeting specific groups or categories proved counterproductive to nations poised as multicultural society, Accordingly, the system is to be restructured applying necessary and relevant criteria barring repeat and verified criminal background and activities as opposed to contemporary mass deportation leading to serious humanitarian crisis that would attract global focus and concern.
President Donald Trump cherishing moments with own family and photo opportunity depicting family retreats while maintaining contrasting position on immigration matter dividing families including children torn apart from their loved ones is indeed an irony. The extraordinary dealings confirm politics blindsiding core human value.
The administration representing United States in entirety could not ignore the majority views against the politically motivated immigration standard subjecting children and young members to preventable agony and misery.
The White House, Justice department, the Department of Homeland Security and others authorizing the inappropriate violations in demanding immigrants exodus in the absence of means to legitimize status is not without political backlash considering the midterm elections around the corner.
Interestingly, those in favor of the erroneous immigration strategy for political purpose are inviting undesirable fate in the election year that would be a game changer for the opposition.
Politics playing crucial role could deliver outcome against predicted analyses given the ethnic concentration and Latino electoral base in key states like Florida, California, New Mexico to name a few in the congressional polls this year.
Regardless, handling the immigration issue with care and understanding is imperative. There are lives caught in the dogma neglecting important aspects of humanitarian, economic, social and political repercussions that are best avoided by reversing the course.
The U.S. administrations granting amnesty has been the tradition like the pardons to those on criminal charges and violations of law. However, this matter would be on legitimate grounds for eligible number of undocumented workers and immigrants in good standing and contributing to productivity and prosperity of the nation they regard their home.
United States respecting lives and human rights especially with children and young Americans having born and grown up in the land with dreams and aspirations is what would make America Great Again.
Hopefully, rationality and compassion would prevail in the peaceful settlement of immigration and immigrant status.
Thank you.

Myanmar – Rohingya Muslims Plight
March 16, 2018
Myanmar – Rohingya Muslims Plight
Padmini Arhant
Anytime a nation’s minority group experience isolation, persecution and human rights violations, that nation’s leaderships and government are in spotlight. Myanmar has been systematically involved in expelling Burmese born citizens of ethnic origin despite them being the second and third generation since the country was taken over by military junta through coup d’état, in the early sixties in the past century.
The military reining control over key resources like natural gas, precious metals and minerals with deals struck between them and western energy behemoths as well as emerging economic power viz. China care less about humanitarian problems and remain focused on respective economic goals.
On the other hand, Myanmar’s military rule having accommodated western backed candidate and Nobel Peace laureate Aung San Suu Kyi’s leadership and political party representation in a quasi democratic setting designed to convince the world on Myanmar’s desire towards political evolution and possible democratic environment has interestingly found a partner with similar sentiments in the wake of brutalities against Myanmar’s ethnic demography, the Rohingya Muslims.
Above all, the western leaderships and Britain in particular with the incumbent Prime Minister Theresa May recently calling out India on the treatment of minorities while ignoring the blatant violations and genocide of Rohingyas in Myanmar explains the political nature of selective empathy in humanitarian issues rather than applying one standard i.e. the golden rule on human rights abuse anywhere.
Notwithstanding the imperialists responsible for wiping civilizations and pioneering prejudice in the divide and conquer strategy until today owe an apology to victims families and the descendants besides reparation costs for depleting resources and exploiting human capital in various colonies around the world.
The western backed Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s stance on this issue not only as a government representative and authority but also as a Nobel peace prize recipient confirms political expediency over humanitarian affairs demanding fairness, justice and equality in any society regardless of political system in place.
The Rohingyas conditions in Myanmar is parallel to Sri Lankan Tamils in Sri Lanka and subsequent summary execution of civilians especially the youth targeted by then Sri Lankan government. The systemic killings carried out not without regional and international i.e. India and United States support in 2009. Additionally, to facilitate the massacre, the UN peace keeping corps was withdrawn at critical juncture abandoning the pleading Sri Lankan Tamils entirely at the mercy of the former Commander in Chief and President Mahinda Rajapaksha authorized merciless killing of unarmed Tamil civilians in the island nation.
With no condemnation on Sri Lankan air raids and shelling, the Sri Lankan government’s actions barely noticed by the UN Security Council that otherwise never miss an opportunity to impose economic sanctions against the favorite adversaries like North Korea, Venezuela and alike citing human rights issues together with nations earmarked for alienation and trade embargo.
The ethnic cleansing in Myanmar by radicals that should have been prevented at onset is reprehensible. As such nations regardless of political structure are obligatory to guarantee safety and security of all citizens nationwide prohibiting discrimination and disenfranchisement.
In fact, when every nation is expected to provide the same safety measures to tourists, visitors and business travelers from overseas and safeguard them from any harm during their visit to any country,
It is incomprehensible to witness the unruly conduct and hostility against Rohingyas – one of the many ethnic groups in Myanmar.
Myanmar’s government slighting responsibility in defending the particular ethnic minority from genocide leaving them with no choice but to flee the nation offshore only to be turned down by neighboring states across the border or alternatively preyed upon by predators like human traffickers and criminal agents to abuse them for their illicit commercial trade is unacceptable. The activities could only be described as callousness on those responsible for the tragic yet avoidable humanitarian disaster.
Myanmar is not alien to ethnic diversity. In fact, there are at least one hundred and thirty five ethnic groups and Rohingyas are one of them. Among these members, the major ethnic races representing Burmese society viz. Karen, Kayin, Kayah, Bamar, Karenni, Shan, Mon, Wa, Rakhine, Palaung, Chin, Kachin and Kokang to name a few are well known in the spectrum. The segregation of a single ethnic segment, the Rohingyas denying them statehood and citizenship is a national default.
Again, the incumbent leadership Aung San Suu Kyi as the State Counsellor equivalent to Prime Minister post choosing to remain oblivious and worst failing to recognize the assault and expulsion of Rohingyas as violent and undemocratic event is extremely disappointing and deeply regrettable.
Whatever the reasons might be behind such complicity, the lack of humanitarian concern from Myanmar’s authorities and especially a Nobel Peace Prize awardee reflects poorly on individual basis and those favoring them in the international domain.
Likewise, the out of control situation in this instance towards Rohingya Muslims also raise questions about Islamic nations complacency and silence to the exclusion and expatriation of population belonging to their faith with no initiatives and pressure on western counterparts involved in economic and strategic partnerships explains the trend in humanitarian matter.
Rohingyas belong to Myanmar and ousting them using aggression and inhumane standards does not bode well for a country aspiring to be democratic and tolerant in the efforts towards political and economic development.
No nation’s progress could be real and legitimate until the people of different sect, class, gender and social paradigms possess equal rights and opportunity without being threatened in maintaining their relevant cultural heritage. Inappropriately, the definition of progress is entirely tied to economic growth, modern infrastructure and foreign investments alongside neglecting social inequality or participating in elimination of certain ethnic denomination with generational legacy.
The other tradition during racial, sectarian and communal unrest in any society is using religion as the pawn for political and fundamental cause. The practice to tarnish religions is aimed at further discord and chaos within community and the world at large. Any followers of sacred religions would refrain from unholy indulgence and strive hard to exemplify peaceful and positive traits through genuine commitment and disposition not performing for camera and audience to win superficial credit.
Nonetheless, there should be no misconception on the established truth the elements using religion to advance personal and vested interests invariably meet their fateful outcome in the end justifying the means serving as precedence to deter future engagement.
In conclusion, Rohingyas and people from anywhere confronted with synonymous plight deserve to be respected and accepted barring social indignation and injustice. Rohingyas are part of mainstream population in Myanmar and forceful deportation from their domicile is against the norm in political, social, humanitarian, ethical and practical sense.
Moving forward the restoration and rehabilitation of Rohingyas and others sharing the dilemma in Myanmar is absolutely necessary and important for the authorities in Myanmar and abroad to sustain fragile peace and stability in the South Asian and Southeast Asian region.
Thank you.

Australia – Human Rights Issues
Padmini Arhant
Congratulations! Australia on legalizing same sex marriage.
Similarly, addressing the following human rights problems would be significant considering Australia’s economy and stability in Asia Pacific is largely dependent on immigrants contribution.
The tolerance to diversity and acceptance of multiculturalism providing equal opportunity to immigrants, minorities and importantly indigenous people down under would be mutually beneficial.
Accordingly,
1. Stopping hate crimes against immigrants of color.
2. Referendum on recognition of Australia’s native population Aborigines as the first people protecting them from prejudice and human rights violations especially preventing Aborigine youth deaths in prison cells that are barely reported in the news media.
Last but not the least,
3. Vote on Australia’s transformation to republic from the current common wealth status pledging allegiance to British monarchy expending Australian tax dollars to safeguard Royalty.
These measures would by far confirm Australia’s commitment to real democracy and human rights issues.
Thank you.

Humanitarian Issue – Northern California Wildfire Devastation
Padmini Arhant
The past weekend wildfire in Napa Valley, the wine country in Northern California affecting four counties devastated lives in that area. The fire engulfing structures, barns, cattle farm and everything it came in contact with in fleeting moments forcing people to flee for their life is tragic.
Although the cause is not known in detail, the destruction is catastrophic. When events like these happen in the form of hurricane, ravaging fire and earth shattering earthquake, life is reminded as fickle and unpredictable. As for nature’s act the wrath is tremendous and beyond human ability to gauge intensity.
During crises, human sentiments among concerned citizens and rescue team often rise to the occasion in reaching out to those in danger. The responsibility shared among people and firefighters as well as emergency crew is laudable. The state authority beginning with California Governor Jerry Brown mobilizing national guard assistance and all the way to the front line members response are valuable in saving lives and containing massive losses in the incident.
Hopefully, the insurance industry would do all required on their part providing necessary attention in restoring homes and lives to citizens some of whom understandably are in shock and dismay.
I convey my wishes to fellow Californians for strength and courage in dealing with extraordinary time of their life. I have the victims and families mourning the loss of their loved ones in my thoughts and prayers for speedy recovery.
Peace to all!
Thank you.
